Retreat Scholarship Nomination
Soulful Knitting is about connection and creativity without strings. As such, we're excited to offer a scholarship to minimize financial barriers to retreat participation.
Scholarship Details
The number of scholarships available will grow as more funds become available. At least one scholarship will be awarded.
You can DONATE HERE if you'd like to contribute to the fund. There will also be a silent auction hosted at the event, where retreat-attendees will be invited to donate new yarn and knitting items to raise money for the following year's scholarship. If you are not a retreat attendee and would like to donate (an) item(s) to the silent auction, please email info@soulfulknitting.com to coordinate.

The scholarship will cover the $300 + HST retreat registration fee. This includes participation in the retreat and meals for the weekend.
Scholarship winners will be able to register for workshops at the retreat at a reduced cost.
Accommodations are not covered by the scholarship.
Scholarship winner(s) will remain anonymous.

Scholarship winner(s) will be chosen by a committee of past retreat attendees.
How to Apply
You may nominate someone else, or apply on your own behalf.
The applicant/nominee must be over 18 years of age and able to attend the retreat on Oct. 21-23, 2022 at the Crowne Plaza in Kitchener, ON.
A short description of why you are applying/nominating someone is all that is required. Two examples could be:
"I would like to nominate ______________ for the 2022 Soulful Knitting Retreat Scholarship. They are very engaged in their community through work with their faith group where they take a lead role in keeping a knitting group going. As a full-time parent with young children at home, they have limited funds and time for themselves. They would not be able to attend the retreat without this scholarship, though I would love for them to be able to attend. Thank you for considering the nomination for _____________."
"I would like to apply on my own behalf. I am a fairly new knitter and I'm hooked! I am actively involved in recovery and volunteer work through a 12-step group. I love sharing knitting with others in recovery. I'm in a bit of transition period in my life and things are just getting settled financially. Finances are the only limitation to my participation in this event. It would love the opportunity to attend. Thank you for considering my application.
Nominations must be received by Aug. 31, 2022. Scholarship recipients will be notificed by September 21, 2022 for the retreat to be held Oct. 21-23, 2022.
